New Teams Added To Call Of Duty

Activision Blizzard strolled into the world of Esports with a huge announcement on 1st July. Call of Duty and the Esports scene that surrounds the Call of Duty game is massive. So, the announcement didn’t take lightly when it was said Los Angeles and Minnesota would be joining the COD Esports League.

Jonathan Wilf is said to be the new president of the Esports franchise. He stated,

“Esports and competitive gaming have clearly emerged as a major force in the sports and entertainment industry. We have explored various opportunities in esports over the past few years, and we believe the new Call of Duty esports league is well positioned for long term success.”

The Minnesota team and LA are owned by two major investors. WISE Ventures owns Minnesota and LA is owned by Immortals Gaming Club, who recently came into the news over their merger.

The CEO of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick welcomed the teams in a statement he made.

“I’m excited to welcome the newest teams, Los Angeles and Minnesota, to our incredible lineup – Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Paris and Toronto – for Call of Duty esports, Together, these ownership groups represent some of the very best organizations in esports and traditional sports who will join us in paving the way for the future of professional, city-based competition for Call of Duty, beginning next year.”
