With the Overwatch League looking so bright and the fact that so many fans were enjoying the addition of the famous streamer Dafran to the league. It was announced just a few days ago that he would be leaving the league to focus on his streaming career. Dafran added an element to the League that no one else managed to do, bringing off meta picks into the league and making them work. One of these heroes that Dafran made his name with was playing Torbjorn. He was the world number one Torbjorn player, according to Overbuff for a long period of time. He then thought that he would bring a spin to the league bringing this never seen before pick into a game and destroying on him. Fans were so excited for this off meta pick, that it meant that they started buying the Torbjorn Atlanta Reign skin with League point in the Overwatch game
Although, Dafran will no longer be participating in the League, he will remain a streamer for the team. Meaning that he will rock and support Atlanta Reign. Being so close to April fool’s day people thought this was a joke, however many fans of Dafran knew that he was having personal issues surrounding his mental health that he kept private however made a few statements in the past about it. Here is the statement Dafran made about leaving the the League:
“I am leaving the OWL and going back to comfy streamer life.
Hey, at least we are leaving maturely and gracefully after finishing stage 1, unlike the throw4dafran nekopara selfless incident.
I want to say big thank you to the Atlanta Reign for giving me an opportunity in the OWL. Professional gaming was always the biggest dream of mine since I was very young and you gave me a shot. Sadly it is not anymore. I would rather be a streamer at this point in life and chill.
The owners of Atlanta Reign are incredible people, Paul and Eric wants and gives the best they can for the team and they are so supportive. Honestly could not have asked for more while playing for them, other than maybe a TV in my room.
Being a part of OWL has been one of the best experiences in my life and it is something to really look up to and strive for if you are trying to go pro in Overwatch. It is so well done and it is way better than you would expect, it was for me at least.
Don’t worry, the Atlanta Reign are gonna pop the f*** off with or without me. They are all fucking insane players and the coaching team is always working hard
I will remember this for the rest of my life with no regret and I can’t thank Sephy enough for pushing me forward to try it out. Thank you ATL Reign and OWL.
As for the future of the streams:
More, longer and consistent streams
We get the pepes back
Eu streaming schedule back
Overwatch will still be my main game. More variety included most likely
Also BIG nice, gonna be streaming under the ATL Reign brand and some cool shit gonna come out from that.
Thank you for reading and to all the people who supported me on my journey, thanks a lot.”
We wish Dafran the best in his streaming journey, hoping that he will continue to grow. He entertained many in the League, and gave us plays we never expected. Let’s Go Dude!
